Thai Actor Denies Involvement In $34M Scam

Jiratpisit Jaravijit, a Thai actor, was said to be involved in a cryptocurrency scam operation. The victim was a Finnish man who has lost over $34 million worth of BTC.

Aarni Otava Saarimaa, a twenty-two-year-old Finnish young man, reported that he was compelled to invest 5500 BitCoin in a project that would supposedly invest in Dragon Coin. He also states that he agreed because Jiratpisit Jaravijit, the famous actor, was involved, so it was more of a valid reason for him to pour his money into the project.

Jaravijit, who attended the court meeting, denied all the charges and says that it was definitely a fraud impersonating him to support the scam.

The key suspect in the case, Parinya Jaravijit, the actor’s older brother, has still not been found. “Boom” is currently out on bail and says he does not know where his brother is.

History and Crimes

In the past, the suspect’s parents and siblings were also accused of several crimes.

The actor showed up to court saying that he is innocent and that he does not know where his brother is following 3 hours of interrogation.

Several charges were discarded, and the victim suggested a resolution to the case by making a deal with the actor, and in return the victim will abandon his complaint. The charges of the money laundering have not been dropped, however.

It is highly likely that the suspect’s parents were in fact involved with a case of stealing BTC, and it will probably end in favor of the victim. However, investors should be very careful when dealing with cryptocurrency as a lot of people who are allegedly offering very good deals can be scammers or fraudsters.
