Remixpoint to Use Crypto Payments for Limousines in Tokyo
Remixpoint is partnering up with Hinomaru Limousine Co. to allow passengers to pay with cryptocurrencies for any rides between Tokyo and its two primary airports.
This month, a trial run is planned to take place and should deal with all rides initially between the 23 wards of Tokyo and Haneda or Narita airports according to individuals who didn’t want to be named for discussing any private data. The service accepts BTC, BCH, and ETH.
This deal is a component of a much larger trend to move cryptos away from any speculation in the financial sector and into commerce, which includes retail payments. Prices have dropped quickly during this past year as long held expectations that BTC and also the other cryptos would alter the economic order available today and showed a reality that most of these digital currencies are quite volatile and may be very slow to take on credit cards or even cash for hegemony as the main form of payment.
Taxi Rides Included Soon
The exchange that’s operated by Remixpoint is BITPoint, which is among the sixteen crypto exchanges licensed by the financial security regulators in Japan. Hinomaru is a private firm based in Tokyo operating a fleet of about 362 limos and also 161 taxis. If this project is successful, it can be expanded to be offered for normal taxi rides.
