eToro Signs Crypto Ad Deal with Seven UK Football Clubs
According to reports released today, Tuesday 21st of August, an exciting new endeavor for the UK crypto platform, eToro, has been officiated. The exchange has confirmed a collaboration with several football clubs within the Premier League in which an advertisment deal will be compensated in the form of Bitcoin, an industry first for these teams.
Among the teams who accepted and plan to participate in this deal include Brighton & Hove Albion, Leicester City, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Southampton, and Cardiff City. The teams released an official announcement confirming their signup to take part in eToro ads.
More To Come
The football industry at large and their associated stadiums also have plans underway to integrate digital currency and Blockchain technologies into their systems as an aspect of this collaborative partnership. UK's eToro remains silent regarding further details regarding plans for this aspect of the deal. In terms of mainstream integration, the partnership marks a major milestone for the digital commodity industry and another step into the greater commercial sphere. The football crypto approach has been attempted and explored by clubs around the globe. In Turkey, Harunustarpor signed a deal with a popular footballer this January in association with Bitcoin.
The Next Step for Crypto and Football
According to The Drum, the managing director of eToro, Iqbal Gandham, stated that this celebrated partnership will be the initial step into a longstanding relationship with the football industry offering a change in the way such commercial entities embrace blockchain technology and Bitcoin in particular.
In line with this domino effect, the UEFA also released a statement last week confirming the deployment of blockchain-supported ticketing system in line with a larger rollout plan.
