Coinbase Has Added XRP to the Platform for Professional Traders
Coinbase announced it will add Ripple to its platform for professional traders. But not everyone will be able to take advantage of the new trading option.
According Coinbase, adding to the XRP listing will take place in four stages. At first, users will only be able to send the Ripple to exchange. After 12 hours, the exchange will allow users to place limit orders, but they will be inactive for several minutes. At the third stage, orders will become available, but they cannot be closed for 10 minutes. After that, full trading will be available.
Coinbase claims that such steps are necessary to make sure the “market is healthy.”
In general, Coinbase users will be able to trade XRP in pairs with BTC, US dollar and Euro. The new option will be available only to professional traders from the USA, UK, EU, Canada, Singapore and Australia. The exchange claims that it may expand this list in the future.
According to Coinmarketcap, XRP ranks third in terms of market capitalization ($13 billion). The daily trading volumes of Ripple exceed $1.1 billion.
