Celsius Names New Chief Compliance Officer
It was just confirmed last Tuesday that Ann LaCarrubba will, in fact, be joining the blockchain company Celsius Network. She will act as the CCO and General Chief Legal Officer.
Alex Mashinsky, the CEO of the company, has expressed his deep enthusiasm with this addition to the team. He explained that since it all began, the company has been mainly concerned with continuing to be compliant in order for blockchain to keep prevailing as it is. Mashinsky was among the inventors behind VoIP. LaCarruba will be working alongside him and many other tech experts at the company.
LaCarrubba’s Previous Work
LaCarrubba has done compliance work for the company before deciding to join them. She expressed deep enjoyment in working with Celsius’ team members and she discovered an interesting aspect to the work as well. She is also very excited to work from a managerial position, on the verge of new beginnings for finance and technology combined. She said that she is looking forward to utilizing her skills in this area as she describes this opportunity as amazing.
Celsius Network is a start-up in financial technology, specializing in the legendary blockchain. Users are allowed to use cryptocurrency as a way for borrowing US dollars. They can also acquire interest rates using the digital currency deposit.
W. Scott Stornetta, who wrote a white paper explaining the potential applications behind blockchain technology in 1991 and considered to this day a founding father for the industry, has joined CN as an advisor just last August.
While LaCarrubba may not be considered a tech inventor, her extensive experience in corporate finance will be a great asset to CN. She has worked for years as a compliance manager with Blackstone as well as American Express, not forgetting a short while at Bank Popular in North America.
